Biggest Mistake

from Across the Atlantic by Sarah MacDougall

/

about

I used to take a woman who was disabled to church every sunday. It was a great time for me to get a mental break. I wrote this song and 'I've got sorrow' on the same day on a tiny donation envelope.
This is a song about letting go of an old tragedy and starting to 'hear' again and not fear life. We are strong!

lyrics

Oh when I fell, flourescent lights
you swore to god that you were right
our fear is our biggest mistake
the biggest mistake I’ve made

Oh I remember when I could hear again
That November, four years ago to the day
four years ago to the day

when my heart got a reason. my soul got bright eyes
I could love you again, I could love you again
oh I swear my darling I’ll never go back there again

When you took my bare hands
birds on the street picked in the sand
you said why don’t they just fly away
It’s the biggest mistake they made
